Bottling the Alt Camp Landscape
Organic certification and minimal intervention wines
In Vila-rodona, Eduard Sanromà has transformed four generations of bulk wine tradition into a boutique project that captures the essence of the terroir. Single-varietal wines, organic farming, and natural methods define this standout winery in the Alt Camp region.
From the Cooperative to Their Own Label

Eduard Sanromà represents the fourth generation of a farming family that historically sold grapes in bulk. As a trained oenologist, he decided to break with tradition to bottle the fruits of the 18 hectares of vineyards they tend in Vila-rodona. His goal: to translate the Alt Camp terroir into liquid form, without artificial additives masking the land’s personality.
His most radical move was leaving the Tarragona DO to gain absolute creative freedom. This step allows him to craft minimal intervention wines and experiment with ancestral methods, all under CCPAE organic certification. The stony, limestone soils are worked sustainably, with every grape harvested by hand.
Wines That Speak the Local Language
The winery’s portfolio is built around single-varietals that seek the maximum expression of each grape. The 125, a Tempranillo aged briefly in barrels, launched the project. Rústic, a Macabeu aged on lees, explores the Mediterranean identity of the variety, while Pironia, a Trepat rosé, offers local freshness.
More experimental labels include El Transgressor, a skin-contact White Grenache, and L’Incorrecte, a natural Parellada from old vines. Also notable is El Nexe, made from Sumoll—a recovered variety that reconnects with the region’s viticultural memory. Their ancestral-method sparkling wines, such as Bubble Dragon, round out a collection that blends tradition with innovation.
Wine Tourism with Deep Roots
The project extends beyond the cellar. The family manages Cal Cap Blanc, a rural guesthouse in Masllorenç that allows visitors to combine wine experiences with local stays.
Winery visits offer personalized tours through the vineyards where Eduard shares his “hands-on” knowledge as a true farmer. This project proves that generational continuity in the countryside can marry deep roots with a contemporary vision. #Naturalwines
